Altay Uzun

Altay Uzun represents multifamily owners across Virginia — exclusively, and by design. Over 200 closed transactions and more than a decade in the market, he's built a practice around a simple premise: an apartment sale is rarely just a sale. It's a significant next step in a client's journey.

His transaction experience runs across the full spectrum of the asset class — market-rate, LIHTC and other affordable structures, historic tax credit properties, and short-term rental portfolios. His clients range from local owner-operators to regional funds, national syndicators, and international capital. Roughly half the buyers his team brings to the table come from outside the region, which is where a sharper number usually comes from.

Before Marcus & Millichap, Altay founded and helped grow several startups and small businesses, and worked in property management while completing his studies at the University of Virginia, where he earned a B.A. in Psychology and studied abroad in ten countries. That entrepreneurial background still shapes how he underwrites — he reads a deal from the ownership side of the table, not just the brokerage side.

He leads the Uzun Group across its Norfolk, Richmond, and broader Virginia footprint, and is a licensed real estate broker in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
